Main Scripture - Luke 10:38-42

It's easy to get so busy working and serving God and forget the One you are serving. When you take your mind and heart off Christ and put your ministry above Him, you get your priorities out of order. But, don't fret, it happens in the lives of Christians at some point or another. Jesus is there to help steer you back on track. Surrender the things that are keeping you away from Him at His feet and move forward letting God have the wheel. Don't let the things that are to take you and others closer to Christ actually take you away from Him.

Main Scripture - Matthew 5:17-18

Christ didn't come to overthrow the Law, He came to fulfill what the Law stands for. He came to show us the way to live for God and to love God and to do what the Law instructs us to do because it points to Jesus himself. We can live our whole lives and try to fulfill the entire Law ourselves and fail, because there is only one who is able to totally fulfill it, Jesus Christ, and He did and gave His life as THE sinless sacrifice to fulfill it for you and I.

The Law doesn't tell us how to fulfill it, just what we can and cannot do to please God. When Jesus Christ lives in you, His fulfillment of the Law comes to also live in you and He teaches you how to fulfill the Law yourself. His righteousness provides your righteousness. Putting your faith and trust in Jesus Christ is the only way to fulfill God's requirements and for you to be righteous in His eyes because when He looks at you, He sees His Son, and not your sinfullness and failure to fulfill the law on your own.

How do you look in God's eyes today? Who does He see when He looks at you?

If He doesn't see His Son, it's not too late for you to invite Him in and accept His fulfillment of the Law and for God to see His righteousness living in you.

Fulfill God's requirement and choose Jesus Christ today!

Main Scripture - Matthew 5:10-12

In life, there is no problem that a Christian has that a non-Christian does as well. The battle isn't in this world. The battle is within the spirit and the evil forces against you.

It takes guts to not give in to the temptations around you. But a line gets drawn, and it's up to you to choose which side of the line to be on; the right side of righteousness or the left side of sinfulness. The choice is yours and you must choose it everyday and every hour and perhaps every minute of it.

Which side of the line will you choose today?

Main Scripture - Matthew 5:8

Our soul is unseen. God is also unseen. Your heart is the gateway to your soul and the only way to see God through your soul is with a pure heart. It has to start there. The heart affects the mind, the emotion, morals, and intellectual center. When God sees you, He sees what's in your heart, not what you may appear to be on the outside.

When you have a pure heart, you see God all around you in His creation and you see Him in all circumstances, the good and the bad.

Can you see God with the heart you have today?

Main Scripture - Matthew 5:7

Mercy is compassion of the soul.
Mercy is forgiving others when it in your power to punish or harm them.
Mercy is making the case of another your own.
Mercy is a willingness to remove personal ease to make someone else happy.
Mercy is saying I'd rather hurt then seeing you hurt.

Jesus tells us to be merciful for He himself is merciful.
Thank God that He has never-ending mercy for our sinfulness. We deserve all the punishment His hand can pour out, but He shown us His mercy by giving us Jesus instead, to forgo the punishment we really deserve.
And Jesus teaches us to put others before ourselves. To take on their hurt as we ourselves are hurting. To have mercy even when in our eyes mercy is not deserved.

Will you have "Jesus-Sized" mercy in your life?

Main Scriptures:
1 Corinthians 13, John 3

It's easy to take God for granite. We don't really think of how big God is and just how much He truly loves us. It's crazy to think that the God who created the infinite universe desires to have a relationship with little 'ol us. But that's exactly what He wants.
And if today was the last day you could speak to the Church, what would you say to it? What encouragement would you give?

It's time to stop just attending church...it's time to BE THE CHURCH.

Listen in to one of New Hope's deacons, Darin Matthews, as he helps to put into perspective just how big God is and how big His love is for us.

Main Scripture - Matthew 5:1-5

Jesus Christ offers salvation as the main course when you put your faith and trust in Him and what He has done for you. The "sides" are the ways in which we are called to live as a follower of Him, as a Christian.

Today, in this third part of his Sermon on the Mount series, Pastor Tim Earwood teaches about how Jesus calls us to live our lives and serve Him as meek and humble servants.

It's tough to be meek and humble when someone wrongs you and your heart seeks to get revenge, but Jesus teaches us there is more blessing in being humble and setting aside our pride and show grace and let God be God and us to live according to His teachings.

Main Scripture- Matthew 5:1-4

"No Change Brings No Change."

You can't expect any change to happen in your life if YOU don't do any changing yourself. You keep doing what your doing and your going to keep getting what your getting.

When one thinks of mourning, it is not often associated with joy. But with God, joy comes in the mourning.

God blesses those who mourn, but not the mourning over death, but mourning over their own sinfulness and brokenness against God. That feeling of disconnect from God is the motivation you need to seek change in your life and to be reconciled to Him again. That change in your life, if done to get closer to God, is the blessing that Jesus is speaking of in Matthew chapter 5, verse 4.

It's easy to get in your own pity party mourning over the things that are only temporary. God calls us to mourn over the things that are eternal.

Where do you and God stand today?

Are You Ready?

<img src="https://assets.podomatic.net/ts/d3/78/58/tighedudeck/1400x1400_12224032.jpg" alt="itunes pic" /><br />Sunday Morning Service - 6/25/17

Jesus will come back and set up His Kingdom here on Earth. Would you consider yourself "kingdom ready?" Are you ready to worship him, serve Him, and reside with Him? Or are you too busy reigning your own kingdom with your own desires, living the way that you deem best?

No one knows when Jesus will come and set up His kingdom. It can happen next week, next month, next year, 10 years from now, or even today. If you're not kingdom ready, you better get ready before it's too late.

Join Pastor Tim Earwood as he begins his series "Sermon on the Mount" with Sermon #1 "Are You Ready" in Matthew, Chapter 5.

May I Have Your Attention?

<img src="https://assets.podomatic.net/ts/d3/78/58/tighedudeck/1400x1400_12199123.jpg" alt="itunes pic" /><br />Sunday Morning Service - 6/11/2017

We all have been guilty of drifting away from God at one time or another in our lives. Sometimes, we can be so stubborn that God has to take drastic measures to get your attention back onto Himself and the path that He has laid out for you. Sometimes, this requires pain and sacrifice. But God is always in control and is always leaps ahead of you to ensure your obedience to His life plan for you.

Join Pastor Tim Earwood as he teaches just one way that God got the attention of one of His servants and how this applies to every Christian's life today with the story of Jonah.
